The Tour :

Predominantly a hill country-based tour for the more relaxed traveler. Experience the bliss of chilly misty mountains as you explore the sights and sounds sedately, before passing through to the southern beach. Between sightseeing, there are generous amounts of free time for strolls on your own or to simply chill out at the hotel.

Best For :

Current program is specifically created with the Middle-Eastern traveler in mind, but suits basically everybody and all ages: from romantics, to nature-lovers, families with school kids and toddlers, senior citizens, those who are recovering after surgeries and simply any weary urban soul who needs a well-deserved break.

When to go :

Throughout the year, with the exception of October and May. Try to time your vacation around fullmoon days of February or August when vividly colorful grand street processions ‘Navam Perahera & Esala Perahera’ parade through the night streets of Colombo and Kandy respectively. April is the most in-demand period for Nuwara Eliya, with so much happening, including motocross, flower exhibitions, horse races etc. Equally good during the Ramadan festive season.

Itinerary

Day 01

Transfer to the hotel in Colombo. In the afternoon set out on a city tour of Colombo. Visit the vividly colorful Gangarama Temple, cluttered with artifacts, and the Colombo National Museum. Don’t miss out the man-eater of Punani displayed at the National Museum of Natural History.

Day 02

Depart for Kandy city. Take an informative brief guided walk in a spice garden on the way in Mawanella. On reaching Kandy, set out on a city tour. Visit the panoramic Upper-lake Drive and drive around the man-made Kandy Lake. Leave some time to browse through fabulous gift stores before checking in to the hotel. In the evening enjoy a cultural show, followed by a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day 03

Take a relaxed walk in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya located on the banks of Mahaweli River. A number of dignitaries including Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and Queen Elizabeth II have planted trees to mark their visits here. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city on your own or relaxing at the hotel.

Day 04

Sit back and enjoy the spectacular views of endless lush tea fields as we drive this morning to Nuwara Eliya the hill country resort located at 1800 m above sea level. On the way, pull-over in Ramboda to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Ramboda Falls and to visit a tea factory. Factory fresh tea can be purchased at the factory outlet. Spend the second half of the day at leisure in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 05

Start the day off with a city tour of Nuwara Eliya: drive around the man-made Gregory Lake, visit the colonial Hill Club and the beautiful and historic 18-hole golf course. Afterwards visit the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, the second largest Botanical garden in the island.

Day 06

Leaving the highlands behind, travel southward to Bentota beach for a blissful beach break.

Day 07

Day 08

At noon be transferred back to the airport for your flight.
